Anselm Von Seherr-Thoss

Anselm will discuss his work in visual effects for tv and film

Anselm is an award winning Visual Effects Technical Director and VES(Visual Effects Society) member with emphasis on particle based effects as well as Fluid Simulations, Shading and Post Production. He has worked on movies such as James Cameron's "Avatar", G.I. Joe-Rise of Cobra, The A-Team, Beautiful Creatures, 21JumpStreet, Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood", Priest, SuckerPunch (PreViz), Dragonball: Evolution, Tree of Life (R&D), Clash of the Titans(3D conversion), Niko & The Way to the Stars, "Loewenzahn", Angel Camouflaged, The Big Year, and "Il sogno del Maratoneta(Day of the Race)" as well as numerous commercials and music videos. I consulted vfx on movies like Gulliver's Travel, Skyline, Moving Day (Shortfilm).

Shawn Hendriks

Shawn Hendriks is the Technical Marketing and Video Production Manager for Autodesk and has worked in the 3D industry for 18 years. Shawn's first job with Autodesk was as 3ds Max demo artist for Canada. Over the years he has been responsible for everything from creating feature videos and customer video profiles to demos and presentations. He now manages the teams responsible for the demo content and videos such as the Autodesk entertainment showreels. Thanks to the nature of his job, Shawn has spent a lot of time visiting and talking with top Autodesk clients in many fields about their work, problems and successes.

Kenny Roy

Kenny will cover Using Maya entertainment suite to develop original IPs in a fast pace production environment

Kenny Roy started in the animation industry in 1997 as a dustbuster on a children's animated feature. Since then, he's gone on to animate some of the most memorable characters on screen, from Scooby Doo to King Kong. In 2007 he founded Arconyx Animation Studios in Los Angeles, CA where he directs projects ranging from TV commercials to short films to visual FX. An animation teacher for almost 8 years, Kenny is also a mutiple-published author in animation and a world-traveling lecturer and runs an animation training portal through www.kennyroy.com.

Chris Landreth

Filmmaker, National Filmboard of Canada
The creator of Oscar winning animated shorts will talk about the creation of his latest acclaimed short, Subconcious Password, using Autodesk Maya

Chris Landreth started his adult life as a mechanical engineer, until he decided in 1990 that doing animation would be much more fun. Since then he's been creating short films, first with Alias Inc. (now Autodesk), then with the National Film Board of Canada. His film Ryan (2004) received the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, Grand Prize at OIAF (for Best Independent Short Animation), and 60 other international awards. His latest film, Subconscious Password, received the Annecy Cristal for Best Short Film from the 2013 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

For the past 3 years Chris has taught "Making Faces", a masterclass on Facial Animation. He's brought this course to studios and schools around the world, including Dreamworks Animation, the University of Pennsylvania, Digital Domain and Ecole Georges Melies in Paris.

Wayne Robson

See Waynes work on digital doubles and human extensions, using 3ds Max and Mudox, for a recent BBC piece as well as the feature film, Last days on Mars.

Wayne Robson is the owner of AcademyFX, He also recently worked as 3D Supervisor / 3D lead on the film Last Days on Mars(October 2013) at Screen Scene Dublin as well separately directly under the director Ruairí Robinson. He was the very 1st recipient of the Autodesk master award for Mudbox, has also taught Mudbox all over the world from the Vienna science academy to CCP games in Iceland and beyond. As well as being an artist was also the programmer behind MudWalker, ReDucto & the 1st vector displacement shader for mental ray to handle Mudbox maps. Wayne has worked in almost very field that you can as a 3D artist, in films, TV, advertising and computer games. His digital double of Olympic legend Jesse Owens was seen by 1/3 of the planet in one night at the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony. Wayne has during his share time released many articles, 2 books , 14 DVD's, 2 two classes for FXPHD and over 48 hours of free video tutorials for 3d artists over the years. When not doing 3D he writes and records music and can be found trying to make software and technology do interesting new things they were never intended to do.
