Autodesk Maya 2013 is out, nothing interesting, and no reason to pay +1000 dollars this small update (I prefer to buy a super computer at this price). Bullet is a free plugin already integrated on Blender, but for maya we must paid the integration.

The awaited features are not avalaible in the new version and the features of Maya 2012 are still demo plugins (DMM : 2500 tetra, Craft Animation : only basic simulation who can be done with Blender Game Engine easly), PTex not supported yet... .
I can't write an article on Maya 2013, their is not enough features, i can only do one little paragraph.

Well, I think to turn and focus on the development of blender and ZBrush now, as many do. There are growing so fast and are made for users not for business.

I would like to know if Alembic caches are mainly used for animation since we are prompted to state the time frame when exporting?

Can someone please explain what's the difference between Alembic cache and file referencing? Thanks.
