Upon a 13 seconds video clip? I like it when reading the text takes double the time than watching the video itself. Autodesk, you rock... sry, but this is just to funny...

Yes, maybe I am a really slow reader. My intention was to show what I think about releasing 13 seconds videos of "Technology Previews" of a multi-million dollar company. I would love to see some more "effort" in trying to elate paying customers for future updates of a market-leading 3d package. But hey, its just me I think, as always...
(And yeah, my native language is not english, I sry about that... how much other languages do you speak then?)

Yes, but they clearly state that, this is not the stated purpose of the video. I'm sure when they demo/release the product, which is looking like GDC, they will have some nice long videos.
Btw, your english is pretty good, I was just mocking the generation of thumb dwiddlers... and really more of a jealous mocking if anything.
Cheers and Good luck!

mmm interesting, as much that the hair and fur system NEED to be rebuild, what about the deal with disney xgen ? Does that mean they don't implement it in maya next version ? Or we will have 2 hair systems ??? Or is it a strip out of xgen code put into maya under the name of nhair ???
Changes are needed so i suppose whatever the answer it is good news.
Please loose the UV base fur grooming as it is, have a look into other soft or shave and haircut....

this video is interesting but yes, i agree with some comments bellow like how about giving some better tools for styling? and maybe point based hair follicle spawning etc?

The simulation looks good, so this use the Nucleus solver, the hairs can collide with nparticles and ncloths?
I have the same question of "fxnurbs", nHair include tehnologies from XGen or they will have two differents hair systems?
And like him UV based hair isn't a good thing. And we need more intuitive tools to brush hair like Zbrush 4r2b's FiberMesh.
Nucleus will can used GPU(s) in the future?

I have forgot to say : because if we have two hair systems, Xgen used in the movie "Tangled" looks already awesome.

Good to see some development with hair, but I have to say this demo is disappointing. Good to see reflections in there, but no motion blur and as this is a dynamics test... whats with all the intersecting with the cube towards the end of the shot (the last time the cube runs across the hair).
Still lots to fix here.
