Already have this in any compositor like nuke. It would really be useful if the zdepth channel could be converted to a point cloud.
I'm guessing the camera's near and far clip are remapped to the image's zChannel.
Can't wait to see what else you folks have whipped up for 2013! (Modeling improvements and procedural features would be awesome!)

- I'm hoping even more things work in VP2.0. Locators and measurements don't displays, which are great for measuring while modelling.
- Face centers dont display. I find them to be best way to select faces
- Light fog cones don't dissappear if you switch off viewport show>lights
- Two sided lighting cannot be displayed correctly (actually this is only when opening old files from previous Maya on occassions). Which is a pain as some older projects had normals flipped wrong way without me realising

Hmm that would be super nice
But i'm hoping for 100% VP2.0 for everything else first, as I imagine overall more time is spent doing modelling, and basic scene naviagtion etc. It is a real hassle switching between modes currently

Also i really, really hope to see iray, announce since Maya 2010... Maybe directly iRay 2.0 with ActiveShade and animation support and a shader base.
What about XGen from Disney?
Maya 2013 will be release during the GDC 2012 (5-9 March)?
