A very happy 2011 to you all!!!!!!
Hi Everyone,
Well, I am back for another great year and I am looking forward to all the new things ahead!!!!!! I hope that you are all well rested and ready to continue the exploration of Autodesk Smoke for Mac.
We're going to kick off the year with a topic I have been asked about a few times in the past....
4 Point Tracking
This common fellow always pops everywhere! How many times are you looking at a shot and see something that needs replacing? How often does the right footage need to be in that TV at a certain moment in time??? Never happens in real-life... So we do it in post!!!
This weeks Vlog focuses on how to perform a 4 point track. This ranges from setting it up correctly as well as performing the offsetting to repin the corners of the image relative to the tracking data. All will make sense when you watch it!
For best viewing, please play this at full screen HD quality
The features shown are applicable to version 2011 ext 1 of Flame and Smoke (Linux and Mac)
I know I used action to do the 4 point tracking but this could also be easily done in the timeline. Simply place your background on Layer 1 and your image on layer 2. By adding an axis softFX to layer 2 you can go into the effect and do the 4 point tracking from within the soft axis. Just remember to use the 3rd layer to re-composite the background to clean up any edge or blending issues.
That's it for today but I need all of you to please send me your blog requests as I need to build the list for 2011... Please keep the requests and feedback coming in!!!!!
If you haven't already done the free online training I suggest you take a look at it at http://area.autodesk.com/smoke-tutorials
Also remember to bookmark the Autodesk Smoke Community website available here for all things SMOKE!!!!
See you soon!!!!
Signing off!!!!
