Smoke 2013: Keyboard Shortcuts

Posted by Ultimate_Smoker*, 9 July 2012 3:51 pm

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you are all well and I certainly have seen that you have been puting Smoke 2013 through its paces.  Thank you all for the feedback and keep it coming!

Hopefully more good things to come soon.

In the meantime, a lot of you have been asking for a short keyboard shortcut guide of some of the more generic Smoke 2013 keyboard shortcuts.

Well the good news is that one already exists but it is based on the new Smoke 2013 keyboard shortcuts and not the "Smoke Classic".

Click here to go to the Smoke Keyboard Shortcuts.

In the meantime, I got my own things brewing as usual.

I hope that the keyboard shortcuts will help.

Have a great day!

Regards
Grant

Hello,

I specifically am looking for a hot key list for when you use the flame prefs and also when you are in connect fx...things seem different than the flame hot keys

thanks

Hi,

The best solution I can offer you is to go on to the wiki and search the Flame Premium manual for the Hotkeys. Bear in mind that the schematic has undergone some major workflow changes therefore don't expect the traditional Flame shortcuts to work as expected. Things are still in beta so its still in a state of flux.

Playback speed question:

Hi Grant,

Is there a way to have 2x speed playback on a source clip when pushing the "L" key twice, and then 3x speed when pushing it again, like FCP7?

Thank you!!!
Great classes btw.

Hi Chocotrucco, I believe if you use the page up and page down buttons during playback will increase and decrease the speed during playback.

Hi Grant and Thank You very much for your time and help !

I'm hoping to find the keyboard shortcuts for Smoke 2013.
I selected on your link above, " See the Smoke Keyboard Shortcuts topic in the wiki."
I am logged in (both for the AREA, and for the Wiki Help).
It brings me to; http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Smoke/enu/2013/Help/User_Guide/0404-Keyboard404/0405-Keyboard405
Which looks like a blank / search wiki page.
I type into the 'Search Smoke' text box, "Smoke Keyboard Shortcuts,"
this returns a number of search results,
http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/search?source=help&product=Smoke&q=Smoke%20Keyboard%20Shortcuts&language=ENU&version=2013
unfortunately the search results seem to go back to a blank / search wiki page.

Do you have a link that goes to a downloadable PDF, or link that goes directly to the Smoke 2013 Pre-release keyboard shortcuts?

Thanks again, I appreciate your time and help!

Hi Josh,

The Docs team are obviously doing update changes and I saw the same issue with my old link.

If you now go to:
http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Smoke/enu/2013/Help

and you will see a topic called Keyboard shortcuts. Just click that and it should be what you're looking for.

Incidently, when you are in the page, you can choose to print option on the top right of the page and you can save it as a PDF.

Hope this helps!

Hi Grant
Trying to use smoke on Mac and can't get the function keys to do anything in Smoke, they collapse the app down as they are still functioning as part of the Apple OS. Using a Logitech Smoke keyboard. How do I get round this?

Cheers

Hi Alec,

This is the joy of Mac. You need to go to the mac preferences. Choose keyboard and in the options, you need to check "Use all F1, F2 etc keys as standard function keys"..

This means that Smoke will be able to use the F keys (actually including others apps as well )

Thanks Grant, nice one.
Felt like my left hand had been removed but now it's back

PS. been trying to open some 2012 batches in 2013 release 4 which have been opening but with no connections and no media and then crashing the machine. Is this something the guys are looking at.

Cheers
Alec

As for the node setups loading in Smoke 2013, the team have ben testing them but I suggest you report them on the official smoke 2013 area forum and post the setups for us to download them and verify the issues.

hi Grant,

this is regarding the editing in smoke 2013,let say we have two or three layers and all are above each other and same duration( 5 secs) on timeline then we create 4th one and i selected a new clip on source and want to insert on new track but in the middle of 5 seconds so when it insert on track four it should cut all the layer which are laying on below tracks from the insert point and should move till the end of inserted clip on their respective video track.

how can we do pls suggest.

Hi,

Ensure Ripple is ON and also enable the track sync buttons in the patch panel.

This means that when you insert from the middle of your clips, everything will be pushed down the sequence to make room for your new inserted shot and everything will still be in sync.

Hello Folks,

We are moving the help content away from the wiki.

Here is the link to the new location for the:
