Hi Grant, a quick question. So I keyed my footage with modular keyer....Now I want to export it without the background image just the front and it's alpha. Is it possible? If yes then how can I do it?
Thanx in advance for your help,
Ashish

hi, the 3d keyer is flame specific and this blog covers mostly Smoke. I will pass this onto the training team so they have your comments. Regards Grant

Will you be doing a tutorial on the 3D keyer? This would be great!

I see. It's like an extra channel for overall gmasks.
Thanks Ultimate_Smoker*

I would look at it from a flexibility point. You could have a gmask in the main pipeline which affects the portions of the key and also have a master gmask in the garbage mask pipeline watching over the entire image. Also it is worth mentioning that you can pull connections off the gmask to the colour channel for instance. You could create a matte in the matte channel and feed that to the colour pipeline to only correct a portion of your image.

Brilliant! Thanks Grant.
I was wondering what the garbage mask line was for in the matteBland node? Because you can add gmasks to the matte pipeline, it seems a bit redundant.

Amazing. Thanks a lot! Do you plan on making any more Modular Keyer videos? That one was quite good.
