The Mythbusters guys demonstrated recently that “hitting the ground running” actually doesn’t get you where you want to be any faster; of course, seeing as they also tried to polish an actual turd on the same show, we can safely assume that the notion of analogy is a bit lost on them. I just started at Autodesk two months ago, and I’ve hit the ground running. I thought my six years at EA had shown me how engaging my work can be to me, but wow. After two months at Autodesk, I can confidently say that this job takes the cake, so to speak (yeah yeah I know, the cake is a lie; please don’t mix references!).
