here is a quote found on this blog from mr David Mackenzie : the new .NET SDK is being called a game changer.
"I am really excited about is the inclusion of the .Net wrapper for the SDK. For those of us who spend a great deal of time writing tools for artists this really opens up a new world for we can do and how quickly we can do it. I might sound silly but it really is a game changer"

Max users who are in game programming are forced to use zmodeler and blender to open such files.
And do we finally have advantage over ZBRUSH?

The .net SDK is a wrapper enabling a plugin developer to leverage .net for his plugin development. It doesn`t add any new functionality to 3ds Max than what the 3ds Max SDK supports.
So to answer your question, it doesn`t bring any additional interop for WFT or DFF. It doesn`t do anything for a ZBrush parity either. I'd check Mudbox for that...
