Check out this video clip. I think the scene/animation is from Tyson Ibele (of building generator fame), but I'm pretty sure the pixels came from elsewhere. With all the different rendering solutions out there these days, I guess it could really have been generated by any number of renderers that hook up to 3ds Max. Yes, I guess I do know it came out of 3ds Max, but I also know it isn't mental ray. That still leaves about a dozen other potential solutions (isn't it great that 3ds Max users have all the choices?). I guess the scene and animation itself isn't that remarkable, but I think there is definitely a story to tell about how those pixels got where they are.
