Hi,
You can add multiple input and multiple output to macros and groups by double clicking on the macro to edit the macro, then select an input or output of any node hold the shift key and drag straight up out of the schematic view and you will create a new input or output and exit the edit macro mode. The macro will now have a new input or output. You can edit the macro again and rename the input or output node for organization. What are you looking to achieve? If you are looking to use a macro with multiple streams of data and have those input and outputs part of the macro will have use a merge stream node and extract node within the macro. I’ll create a new video next week showing this workflow and pots it here on The Area. FYI you could just add the merge node and extract nodes before and after the macro.

I have in my hands a project that will need the same comp once and again and again, so to make the life of my compositor easier i want to develop a macro with the composition procedure for this project in one node with all the settings needed in that node, so the only thing she should do is to connect the different inputs and adjust some values, so the composition is a lot faster and easier

Thanks for the answer, i'll try it as soon as i have a moment, i like these vids a lot, they are helping me to understand Composite a lot better, and they give me great ideas for our comp workflow.

Thanks.

Cheers.

Using a macro as a mini-comp, yes this is possible but you will have limitations to how many internal tool parameters can be displayed outside the macro. So to access all of the internal tools parameters the compositor will just have to work in the edit macro mode. I can see using the overview schematic with this workflow. Have one schematic view docked and in that schematic view display the internal tools of the macro and any time you want to view the top level of your comp to connect images into the macro you can easily access the overview schematic.

Hi Ken,
I know this a little off topic, but I didn't see another place to ask. As a former Combustion user I was able to export gmask setups for import into the flame. I was wondering if Composite would have this functionality. Thanks.

Hi Shauna,

Unfortunately the answer is no, you can't pass any setups from Composite to Flame.

Some more tutorials would be cool.
