Just got back from an amazing Siggraph in New Orleans. We presented 3ds Max in the Autodesk theatre a few times a day and after the presentations, few questions were asked in
private. While my memory is still fresh, i recorded follow up videos to explain certain aspects of the demos in a bit more depth. In order to fully appreciate these
videos, make sure you look at the Siggraph demos here:
Introduction
Replace CAT Bones with Textured Meshes
Take a girl model made by my collegue Daryl Obert and use it to replace the bone's mesh on a CAT rig. See how to make sure that the texture map and the UV's are carried in the
CAT Rig template so that it can be reused in any project.
FBX Workflow with Quicktime and Motion Builder
Take a deeper look at the setup and export settings when exporting FBX files for Quicktime or for Motion Builder. Then, see how to import an animation from Motion Builder on a
CAT rig using the Capture Animation tool. In this video, i use assets from Noah, a film by Visual Distractions. You can see the trailer and more details about the movie here:
Noah.
Modeling Tools from Graphite
See where to find modeling the tools used in the Siggraph presentation. Also see more of the options available on those tools.
Viewport Depth of Field
Learn how to enable real time depth of field in the 3ds Max viewport. This feature us not officially supported by Autodesk but you can enable it at your own risks.

If you select any CAT bone and right-click, you'll see a quad menu item that is called "add gizmo". That's what i used to create the gizmos.
In the \Autodeskdsmax10 - 64bit\enu\plugcfg\CAT\Gizmos folder (in the documents and settings folder structure for CAT), you have a max file called "gizmos.max" and you can add all
the gizmos you want in that scene. So you can create your own shapes there. CAT will look for that file and expose all shapes that are in it.

Louis,
in the "Replace CAT Bones with Textured Meshes" video you use a script (?) called "gizmos.max" that apparently assigns a control object to the selected bone. Where can I find this
"gizmos.max"?

I have posted a long tutorial on Stereoscopy a while back. You can find it on the last page of all my tutorials: area.autodesk.com/louis_tutorials.
But you are right about the StereoCamModifier script. I should record a video on that. I will record a fresh version of the Stereoscopy tutorial and include the script. I'll try
to do that within a couple of weeks. Thanks for the suggestion!
