I had a lot of time on an airplane recently and was thinking about some better ways to use this blog and the rest of The Area to generate excitement for the Softimage community. One thing that I'd like to do is work on more training videos and webinars that show off what makes Softimage unique, especially now with ICE. I've always thought the best content was produced by our users so let me know if you have something cool you want to share. In addition, I'm also looking for cool stuff to show to customers at demos so not everything will make it into a recording or a screenshot but I'm sure someone, somewhere will see it! If your creation IS something I can show off I'll need some sort of release from you but hopefully that will be rather painless and of course you or your facility will get credit whenever it used.
It doesn't have to be just ICE either. If you have an awesome rendering or some cool trick technique send away... It doesn't matter how big or small the production, If it's cool I want it!
Also, let me know what you all want to see from Softimage as well!

Hi Mark,
One idea could be to browse through the ICE videos on Vimeo and perhaps contact ths uploader if they would be interested in showcasing something (more elaborate with explanations etc) over here.
There are a couple of ICE related groups on Vimeo. I think the group created by Alan Fregtman has the most ICE related videos at:
www.vimeo.com/groups/ice
Cheers,
Sajjad

I think ICE should follow the steps of the Render Tree. I remember back when I fist started using the render tree concept, things like METAL were already pre-setted on the materials. I know XSI brings us some samples, but they aren´t that much instructive without step by step construction or tweaking parameters.
Statement:
Since everyone makes "space ships", metal shader it´s commonly used.
Since space ships need "boosting engine energy engine", an ICE compound should show us how to do it.
Thanks.
..xsi content? uhmm...I think I can work in something. This "call" is open until what date?

Hello Mark (as said in a Mr.Hankey voice from South Park) :)
I personally would like to see more material on how the nodes in ICE work so I can mix and match them and make wonderful things to help my work-flow along, be it free or training material on this subject that you can purchase.
