New York Softimage User Group - TOMORROW NIGHT!!

Posted by Mark Schoennagel, 5 June 2012 9:18 pm

Greetings everyone!

I wanted to write you all a quick note while bouncing up and down on a New York subway about an impromptu Softimage user group meeting tomorrow night in Manhattan!  I know there has been a lot of “rumors” floating around various forums so I thought it might be good to call a meeting while Im in town and hopefully pass along some positive Softimage energy.   So my plan is to talk for a bit about the future and dispel some of those rumors and also show a little bit of the new crowd stuff in 2013 for those who havent seen it yet.  We also have a couple special guests!   Chris Covelli from Exocortex will be giving us a nice in-depth look at some of the awesome work he’s done on their character creation product, Species.  If your creating any type of characters you’ll definitely want to check this out!  Also Softimage master Todd Akita from Psyop will join us and as always wow us with something cool.  He just finished putting together a pdf explaining the fundamentals of ICE mathematics which I must say is probably the most informative ICE document I’ve ever read.  Really REALLY good stuff!  I’ll post a link to the doc here on the blog in the near future but for those who want a sneak peak come to the event.

Afterwards we’re going to hit up a pub where I’ll pick up a few rounds of your favorite beverage. :)

The user group meeting will be tomorrow, Wednesday June 5th at 7pm the Autodesk Media and Entertainment offices, 38 West 21st Street, 9th floor.

Special thanks as always to Phill Avanzato for setting all this up on short notice!!

Hope to see you there!!

Sounds great!

I really do hope someone will make a video covering some of the juicy stuff for all of us on the other side of the pond!

"Rumors", I haven't seen any good "rumors" lately, but if there were any, wouldn't it be best to address them online (FYI: you've got your own blog here, you know) instead of at a local chapter of the community?

Looks like a great meeting. Want to meet in Chicago next? I have a location that would work. Right downtown too.

Any update on the link to the Psyop file? I can't find it on the net anywhere?
