Sending a scene to Backburner in 3ds Max 2013

In previous releases you would tick the Net Render box to render using Backburner, that would be stored in the scene file. If you open such a file in 3ds Max 2013 and hit render it'll bring up the Network Job Assignment dialog. if you don't want to render with Backburner you need to select Production Render from the Render dropdown. With 3ds Max 2013 this isn't stored in the scene file anymore.

Yeah well... After installing the updates for Max2013, backburner crashes when submitting jobs, so I don't know how useful this information really is...
I hope an update to the update will fix this soon. Until then I guess I'll have to run around the office and manually start renderings on trial-versions.
Pretty crappy for software at that price.

Seems that Max 2013 keeps the Crashing tradition that
3ds max conquers , trough the decades, as no one has rewritten the Bug code at the core of it.
Also I already have my Subscription Max 2013 but can't use as Autodesk made it imcompatible with all plugins, and if you read the forums ,they complain will be a hard task for the plugins developers.

It took me a while to figure this out. Glad it is posted here, but those screen shots should really be included in the help.

we saw this and we would have to open up the 2012 version and uncheck it... save... and reopen it in max 2013. What a pain. So I found a script that worked to uncheck in max 2013.

Run this script in 2013 to "uncheck it"

macroScript TurnNetRenderOff
toolTip:"turn net render off"

share and enjoy

I just switched to 2013, and found the net render ok, but when I submit a job to Backburner from 3ds Max 2013 design, it comes into the backburner monitor as already completed. I can send the same file from an older version and everything will pick up just fine. I'm not sure what's going on...?

if it hangs while you submit job. un-check "Include Maps" in Backburner dialog may help, usually I can see it hangs because of trying to save file.

More information can be seen here : (it used for 2010, but still work good for 3ds max 2013)
