Failure to have the cameras active in the viewports means that the render will get stuck at "Current Task: Transforming Vertices..." and you'll have to terminate the 3ds Max process.
In order to make sure that the Video Post renders run as expected the views or cameras that you've used in the Scene Events have to be active in the viewports. That means you can have a maximum of four different cameras per Video Post sequence (one for each viewport).
Autodesk has placed this product issue on development's product modification schedule.
