If you've already cached your data, there's no need to lock up an interactive cut of Maya to mesh your liquid sim. In this entry, I show how to mesh from the command line (breaking the Alembic export into chunks at the same time), and render in mentalray without having to import all Alembic data into your scene by using the abcImport plugin workflow.
