In the last week at least 4 people have come to me asking how to render really large images without running out of memory. Here is a video of just one option that uses Backburner with 3ds Max. There are many answers on the web in various form but I wanted to create a video that visually walked through this method as many people with only one machine have never considered or even seen Backburner. I figure now at least I can quickly point someone to an answer if I get the question again.
Will this fix all your out of memory issues? Nope. but it should solve many that are purely related to the resolution of the images you are trying to render.
