Well this may be my last post for a few weeks. Any day now I'm going to have a brand new bouncing baby boy. I can't believe I'm doing this again! Don't get me wrong... I'm excited. But at the same time I'm not quite sure I'm mentally prepared to completely upend my life for the next several months if not years. Too late to back out now though :)
So for this week's topic my good friend and co-worker Marcel de Jong is going to show a simple setup for creating a rig for a hydraulic arm using a couple of constraints. If you haven't needed to figure out a solution to this on your own in the past, it's a pretty cool and useful little trick that will most likely come in handy for some of you someday.
If you like picking up useful little tips and tricks like this one, this is just a sample from a free webinar later this week that Marcel and I will be running. We'll cover several Maya centric modeling, texturing, rigging and dynamics topics, plus a few miscellaneous tips about things like subscription benefits. It's happening this coming Thursday, Jan 14th at 4pm EST / 1pm PST. You can register for that here ->
You can also see a listing of future webinars plus links to recordings of past webinars that we've already done. And please feel free to forward the registration info to anyone else that you think might be interested. The better attendance we get the more of these we'll be able to do in the future.
So without further ado... wait is it "ado" or "adieu"? Hmmm... even google doesn't seem to know :) But regardless, here is Marcel's demo movie on creating hydraulic rigs. Thanks for sharing Marcel!

it's "ado." Adieu means goodbye in French, so saying "Without further goodbye" makes no sense.

It's "Without further ado", A rather Shakespearian phrase, that's no longer really used in English, apart from such phrases as that and "Much ado about nothing", both of which are principally retained in English because we all had to endure interminable readings from various Shakespeare plays in English Lit.
Great tutorial also (by the way). Thanks for taking the time to spread some enlightenment.

You'll need to duplicate the entire series of nodes including the constraints. So use "Duplicate Special" and turn on Duplicate Input Graph.
