Sadly though, this is not technically a "Maya BonusTool" and will not be included with the new installers :) But there are a bunch of other cool tools that will! Here is a list of what's been added and/or updated.
What’s New?
Modify -> Drag Move Tool
Modify -> Mirror Translate/Rotate
Modify -> Copy Pivot from Last Selected
Modify -> Align Pivot(s) to Bounding Box
Window -> Attribute Editor Template Builder
Animation -> Pose Blend Shape Editor
Modeling -> Flatten Components
Modeling -> Slide Components
Modeling -> Delete Edge Tool
Modeling -> Delete Vertex Edges Tool
Modeling -> N-Sided to Quad Tool
Rendering -> Refresh Texture Swatches
Rendering -> Auto Layer Texture(s)
What’s been fixed or updated?
Modify -> Proportional Transform
Modify -> Store Transform Values
Create -> Create Menu from Shelf
Display -> Toggle Single/Double Sided
Display -> Toggle Poly Surface Area HUD
Display -> Toggle Poly Volume Area HUD
Animation -> Store Pose
Animation -> Time Warp Animation
Modeling -> Merge All Verts/Edges by Distance
UV Editing -> Auto Map Multiple Meshes
Rendering -> Change Texture Paths
I've put together a few short movies to show some of the new tools. Today's post will focus on Modeling related tools but stay tuned for more...
I see "Flatten Components" listed under "Whats New", but in your teaser video you state it won't be released until the next version of Bonus Tools. Since I cannot get
it working in my version of Maya 2013 (even though its not grayed out) I'm assuming
the video on this page is current and the release of this tool is still to come. Correct ?

Flatten is not working for me either.

Two issues have already been reported by a number of people.
1. Flatten Components doesn't work initially. This is known and not so much an issue. This tool is a Python script which required an additional step to setup. See the BonusTools help docs for instructions on how to setup you Python search path. You only need to do this once and it should work from then on.
2. Slide Components HUD buttons are missing. This is apparently a bug in 2013 that was not caught before the release. It will hopefully be fixed in the next Service Pack, but in the meantime you can disable the Slide Components mode for an object with this command "bt_disableSlideComponents"

HUD buttons appear to be missing from the Auto Unwrap UVs Tool as well.
[Update: as xkf also pointed out, the buttons are clickable, but completely invisible]

What I can see the buttons are there, just not visible. So You can still click them If You know where. Just a bit of try and error at first and You can work it out.

Regarding the "Create Digital Number Node"
It says in the instructions:
"Note: This requires the PolyTools.mll plug-in to be loaded - see BonusTools section of the Plug-in Manager."
However, I can't find any PolyTools.mll or a BonusTool section in my Plug-In manager!
It is installed and the other tools work correctly I think. My Python path is also set...
What's up?

There's some really great additions here. Are the bonus tools ever going to come out of the box with Maya? I'm sure a lot of users don't know about bonus tools and some may not bother to get them because it's a "mission" to install.

Where can I download Bonus Tools for previous versions of Maya?

Steven, a suggestion: mention that additional configuration steps are needed (i.e. userSetup.py python sys.path update), and where the BT documentation describing this can be found, in the top level Bonus Tools download/info pages. It wasn't hard to find of course, but some reference like ("Documentation for the BT can be found, after installation, in the BT installation 'docs' folder: MayaBonusTools.pdf" would be useful.
Thanks for getting the BT ready reasonably close to product ship, and for the continued investment in tutorials etc. Slide Components seems like it ought to be part of the standard modeling toolset. Nice.

*** HUD BUTTONS ***
The disappearance of the HUD buttons for various tools is a known (and unfortunate) issue. It is actually a bug in Maya 2013 and unrelated to BT. It is logged and should be fixed in an upcoming Service Pack.

Maybe its a dumb question but where exactly do i have to put the bt_disableSlideComponents command to disable the slide buttons?
Just enter it in the script editor and execute seems not to work.
// Error: Cannot find procedure "bt_disableSlideComponents". //

_tomtom - Sorry, try this... select the object for which you've applied slide components and run this...
Are there options for with the nSided to quads tool ? In the video it appeared t still create triangles in some regions, would there be a way prevent that ?

You need to set up python path - it's painless.
In maya, go to bonus tools>help>bonus tools help
page 9 you will find the instructions.
Also, rejoice, SP1 and the HUD using bonus tools work.

I installed the bonusTools but they don't show up in Maya. Where are they suppose to be installed? Does the installation affect the Maya ENV file or does the ENV file need to be adjusted to point to the bonusTools install directory? If so, what should be added to the ENV file so Maya finds the bonusTools and they show up? This didn't work in my installation in version 2011 or 2013.

Posted 12 July 2012 1:15 pm
x_gunslinger - No there are no options for this tool. It will create quads where it can but if there are leftover tris there is nothing that it can do about those. You can use the spin edges tool to adjust where the tris/quads are.
STLR
Posted 12 July 2012 1:18 pm
anamator - You should not need to edit any files other than if you are you using an existing userSetup.mel file? If so you may need to add "bonusToolsMenu;" as a line at the bottom of that file in order for BT to show up.
STLR

inkman002 - The python path on the Mac may need to be slightly different. Try this...
