| Multi/Sub-Object Color Selector
|
|
|
I noticed that when using a Multi/Sub-Object material and clicking on the material color to the right of the material, the previous color value is not stored when you change the color. Instead is just updates automatically with the new color. So cancel and reset don’t work and any objects with the material applied change before clicking OK. Going into the material and clicking on the diffuse color box works as it should, but the root level is the one with the issue.
1) Create a new Multi/Sub-Object material
2) Click the color box next to the first material
3) Change the color value and try Reset or Cancel
Does anyone else have the same result?

Seems to do the same in Max7 through 2009, so it’s not 2009 specific. I don’t recall it being mentioned here before, which is somewhat surprising, though most users would have at least a bitmap (in the diffuse slot) or a fairly complex material, so that feature may not get as much use as you might think..
(Thanks for creating the separate thread).

It’s by no means a big issue, just something I came across. I only bothered to post it because it is a bug and could be fixed for future releases…

Sadly there’s no guarantee they will read this (or the other) thread - the only way to be certain they know about it is to submit an error report.
