Please see the attached text document that describes the problem in detail.  The report has been submitted to Autodesk for further review.

The errors encountered include the following:
“<BIP File Name> An error occurred while loading this file.”
“<BIP File Name> This file format is obsolete.  Please re-save the”

*Edit* I meant for this post to be listed in the suspected bugs thread, but it ended up here instead.  Sorry.

Thanks,
Robert Graf

I’m getting the same error.

Some work, some do not.

And, some that fail from the 2010 DVD, fail from the 2009 DVD, but work from the 2008 DVD. And some fail using 2009 loading from the 2009 DVD, but work from the 2008 DVD.

Example: \Samples\Motion\BIP\Dance\Ballet.bip
The 2010 and 2009 files fail, but the version 2008 and earlier files work.
Using 2009, the 2009 file fails, but the 2008 file works.

Example: \Samples\Motion\BIP\Dance\CHACHA.bip
The 2010 file fails, the 2009 file works.

This appears not to be a new issue.

Thanks for the FYI!  I didn’t know about the previous issues with BIP files. Now I do!

Hi,

Attempting to get my head round some of the biped and crowd sim stuff. Ran into this problem, many bip files not working. Is anything being done by Autodesk to resolve this?
