Hi everyone, I’m trying to track down an issue a few members have had. Here are the apparent symptoms.
1) can’t successfully use Fast reply.
2) post reply only works if you do a preview before submitting
3) can’t submit feedback through the send feedback option on the side panel.
If you are experiencing any of these issues please post here, obviously using the preview to make it go through ;-)
What I want to know is ...
1) what browser you are using?
2) what OS?
3) are the problems constant or do they happen at specific times of day?
4) do you have all or only some of these issues?

I had one incident recently in trying to respond to a post using Fast Reply, the response I got was something to the effect of “we are temporarily unable to accept your post” printed in red on the normal page.
Using FireFox 2, Vista 64 Ultimate, time of day was about 6:30 pm EST, only once and only issue.

SIr, I m having problem to Post any kind f post. All the Posts button except ‘Quote’ r inactive at all.
1) My Browser is IE - 8 Beta
2) Windows XP - SP 2, Professional Version 2002
3) Processor - Intel Pentium D
4) All the post buttons r inactive 24X7

The one thing that seems weird, is that I can’t see the send feedback option on the side panel, I don’t know what this button does (maybe it replies to comments and posts) but I can’t see it.
1) Browser IE 7
2) Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
3) AMD Turion x2 TL-50
4)The send feedback is always missing.

Hey Amtijersy, the reason you aren’t seeing the buttons as active is because your using IE 8 beta. Beta versions are usually not as stable and definentely not stable for everday browsing. Try downloading IE 7 or trying it with Firefox.

Do u have similar problem. Zago u r still a newbie So let Shawn to solve my prblem. I think it is technical Glitch on part of the Web Site.

This is a “fast reply” - I usually use “Reply” or “Quote”. I almost always preview my posts, not because they won’t send but because seeing a preview shows up bad grammar, missing punctuation etc better than the edit window does (certain other posters take note!).
FireFox 2.0.0.11 (I really must update this...)
Win2k SP4

amitjersy, I would definitly try a different browser to see if the problem goes away. Knowing IE a beta of 8 could easily have a number of surprises in it that break stuff. We have had to hack so much code just ot make sure that all the versions of IE see the same thing on AREA that it drives us crazy. Let me know if this fixes things and we’ll start looking at IE 8 to see what they have changed.
Austin the feedback link is just to allow you to send the AREA team comments about AREA or report bugs you ave found. Does the feedback link show up with other browsers? Let me know.
Steve I got your feedback test so all is working fine on your side. I know I get tons of feedback daily so this problem seems pretty localized and effects a very small number of people.

Hey Shawn, I can see the feedback link now, I just might not have known where it was. Thanks. Just I think a lot of the problems are being caused by IE 8 Beta, so I’ll download it and see if IE 8 causes the buttons to be inactive on my laptop.

Well yeah just to let everyone know, there is a glitch with IE 8 Beta, the website is like totally inactive for me, and then freezes up and crashes. I believe its probably a problem with IE 8, so now I just have to use Firefox.

Good News! If you are using IE 8 beta, you can click the button that says Emulate IE7, for me its near the right side of the screen. This fixes the problems that IE 8 has been having on the Area
