I’m usually in the 3ds Max forums, and time and again people need to request basic information to help troubleshoot problems.  It is becoming more common for people to add their software version and brief system specs into their signature so others can easily see what they are using at a glance.

With all the information fields currently set up in our profiles, I wonder if it is possible to add fields where people can input this information and their signature is automatically populated with this information.  Even with many people doing this manually, it would be helpful if it were a little more standardized.  Some people add way more information than necessary, others barely scratch the surface.

Are there many others out there that would like to see the same thing?  And what kind of information would we like to see?

Software package with version and service packs/extensions installed. (Allow for 2 or 3?)
Common 3rd party render plugins (Vray, Final Render, etc.)
Operating System, bit type (32, 64), service packs
Processor manufacturer (Intel, AMD) and type (Core2 Duo, Quad Core) and speed.
Video Card
Amount of RAM

Any additions?

Video card driver version and the amount of memory it has (separate from system RAM).

Oh and Vote++; (several times over).

And while we’re at it, some kind of nominal limit on the manually entered part of the sig (some are a crazy length) and maybe disallowing size and colour modifiers as well. If a feature exists, someone will abuse it.

Max 4.2 through 2012 (SP2+SAP).
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.

Ditto on the size limit.  Nothing worse than a signature that’s twice as long as the post itself.  And some people’s colors get a little out of hand.
