Any problems with the email notification system? I haven’t received any since Jan 30th, yet there have definitely been replies to threads in which I have participated and there was a PM I nearly missed as well.
I’m aware that my ISP has been having “issues” with delayed mail (they do come through eventually though), but I have been receiving other mails to the same address which leads me to assume that something isn’t quite right here.
Any ideas?

maybe you accidently clicked on the wrong link that says stop sending emails on this topic
|
|
|

And I managed to do that in every single thread to which I’m subscribed? Unlikely…
And before you ask, yes I did check my profile - it is still set to “Enable email notifications by default when you post messages”.

strange I’m getting all email notifications. How about spam control?

Nope - I just checked my ISP’s spam settings - they are turned off (I did this deliberately a long time ago to prevent exactly this kind of problem). Even if that setting was being ignored, it is set to TAG the mails but still deliver them.
Locally, I use Thunderbird - any suspected junk/scam mails are automatically placed in a junk folder, but are not deleted.. There’s nothing in there from here.
How strange.

are you getting email notifications for this topic?

Nope. I check these forums pretty regularly anyway so I’m not missing anything, but I’d like to understand why I’m not receiving them.

Still no mails :(
I’m going to change my email addy for one which not an ISP provided one - completely unrelated account. That should help determine if it’s me, the ISP or something else.
[edit] Changed. Let’s see what happens in the morning (if anything… [/edit]

It’s morning - and I have 3 mails in my inbox. I’ll be talking to my ISP shortly (I won’t repeat here what I’ll be saying to them ;) )
Daniel, I know from past experience that may ISP support bods will ask if I can obtain any “bounce” messages - Is there any chance you could check the Area logs and if you can spot one either email or PM it to me? It would help enormously, though I appreciate that it may not be possible.

Hi Daniel, thanks for looking into this for me.
My ISP support guys have asked if you can email me directly such that the mail is sent from the same domain as the notification mails are sent. I guess they need the From and ReplyTo headers to be . That way you may (or may not) get a bounce message which could prove very useful. The address in my profile is valid (obviously), or drop me a PM if you can’t see it.
Cheers.
