Thank You Steve for your reply and I am sorry to hear that you are neither paid or have access to much more than the regular members. Very sad indeed.

You certainly answered as to “Why” threads that do not work are kept in place. Thank You. If you have issues with getting support from Autodesk, due to staff changes, then I would have to assume that I would receive even less. No reason to investigate further Steve. Thanks again for the URL and the offer.

Also I did not realize that this was basically and “Self-Help” forum. I do know Seagate has opened this type of forum and it has really been a flop. I would say most of us come here because of issues, not as teachers/mentors, unless we spot something at that time we can offer help.

Thanks again Steve and all the Best.
Mr Cadcam

if no official support or staff check on these forums, then how does autodesk developers receive wishlist/feedback topics that are posted?

I believe the various “wishlist” forums are read, and there are some autodesk staff who do post here, but not many.

Bugs should be reported via the Defect Report Submission Form (for Max, not sure about the other products).
Submit the CERs if you get them.
Some issues (like Licensing) can be dealt with on the Autodesk Support Forums (for Max).
Beyond that you probably know as much as I do - I’m just a normal user like everyone else - I just happen to have moderator rights as well.

Max 4.2 through 2013.
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.

Mr. Cadcam and Tsunami,

We hear you, but as Steve already mentioned, the forum’s been broken for a very long time, and we (the forum admins) are functioning at a limited capacity.

In addition to Steve’s suggestions, please go here to submit your feedback regarding the AREA Discussions Forum.

http://area.autodesk.com/feedback

To be perfectly honest, we have no idea who receives the feedback, but hopefully they’ll reach the right people. We need more members to speak up. Everyone’s on Twitter these days, and the forum seems to be at risk of becoming extinct or abandoned. That would be a sad day.
