I think it would be nice if the links that are embedded in a post would open in new windows so I don’t have to leave th AREA right away to view them. (HTML code target="_blank" )

not everyone likes this feature (opening with every click new window or tab). You are the first one who request it. In the newest browsers you can click on the link with middle button on your mouse or scroll button and that will open the link in the new window/tab.

Hey editor...why was there no “official” mention of the HotFix for Max 2008? I can’t seem to get a reply from Autodesk on this matter (yes, several emails and phone calls have been placed).

Hotfixes/product updates are connected with support. I’m pretty sure that you have to contact them.

Wow! That was a really lame ass cop-out!

You are the Area Editor, right? Isn’t there a section named “News and Announcements”? Wouldn’t a Hotfix for a piece of software be either “news” or an “announcement”? But instead of posting something useful, you posted “IT’S NOT MY JOB”. What does an editor do exactly? Perhaps the powers to be should reevaluate your position.

Is there a real person with real responsibility that has a real answer and would like to chime in here?

kev:
i’m with you thinking that ADESK is the LAMEST company - speaking of customer relationship handling and internal communication in general
at least if you are not a 200 seat arch/viz/building/mechanical engenieering enterprise

But i think Daniel is the wrong person to attack, and your tone is a step to harsh IMHO.
There is even a sticky in this subforum that it’s not for support issues....

Post in Ken Pimentels Blog’s comment section - he is the 3DS Max product-manager - he is the right person to critize here (again),
As always, he did and will say everything will become better and they learned there lesson blablabla -
In this case i bet 100% he will answer that he was not aware of the fact that there are hotfixes online already.

heres the link - and he really seems to read the comments…

This is Autodesk - a huge communication and corporate mess -
i gave up already....
