Originally we had Max9, Max8, Max through R7
Then we had Max2008, Max9, Max through R8
So shouldn’t we now have Max2009, Max2008, Max through R9 ?

NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).

Steve, traditionally, the latest release has a solo conference, and all previous releases are lumped into a combined conference. That Max9 and Max8 had autonomous conferences was likely an oversight more than a strategic shift. This technique was employed throughout the lifespan of all prior releases on the Old WebBoard.

I remember that - and Don kindly reminded me of it in another thread ;)
This forum, and Area V1, had the “this, previous, through” layout which seems more logical to me. It just seems we have too many forums at the moment making it difficult to know which forum to post in. Unless Shawn intends to consolidate the older product forums at some point in which case we’d better leave him alone to get on with it :)

Ok - the “consolidation” has happened. Can I make a suggestion please?
A sticky thread at the top of the “through 2008” forum informing posters that they ABSOLUTELY MUST state the version of Max to which their question refers. This could also apply to the non-version-specific forums - Modeling, Animating etc. I for one get fed up having to ask “which version” before any attempt to answer the real question can be made.
