These “Subscribe to this thread” link doesn’t work in IE8.  The page doesn’t refresh.  Can it be fixed?

The page doesn’t refresh in any browser - look closely at the link and it should have changed to “Un-subscribe from this thread”. Blame the over-use of javascript…

It works fine here in Firefox. I wouldn’t touch IE (any version) if my life depended on it so I can’t help with it, I’m afraid.

i use ie8 and maxthon 2 [an ie7/8 based browser that has far superior features to firefox].  and a majority of users still use ie8.  can this be fixed to improved compatibility across more browsers?

I suspect that many people here use IE. There were a lot of complaints about the notifications not working at all, but that was fixed and they do now work. I don’t recall any about that link not working though, so it could be a settings problem. Beyond that, I don’t know.

Maybe some IE8 users will respond and tell us if it’s working for them. That may help narrow down the cause.

Curious - it updates immediately here, without needing to refresh the page.

As I suggested above, we need other IE8 users to confirm this as an issue. If so, then I will gladly add it to to the list of issues requiring resolution. There’s little more that I, personally, can do.
