Am I just the only one?
Of trying to use Max in a sort of, say, way out manner, from time to time trying to derail or even run down more or less the whole system, shoot at all that moves, one way or another. And non-profitable, because who on earth is going to buy that stuff, despite going almost to the verge of everything, weird forms and sometimes new and better colours somewhat smashing out.
In short, about a month ago I went to some concerts in the neighbouring town, Perpignan, not very far from Barcelona. Contemporary, concrete or electronic music, John Cage, Karl Heinz Stockhausen and so on, and, it was really me, apart from, I am here doing it on a visual side and then only for the eye, with Max.
And then, a little more than a week later, I went up to Paris and then to participate in the, so, 3December – and I felt completely alienated!
Kind regards,
PS: This topic, is it here the right spot, I wonder?

Moved from Max 2009.
Regrettably your post doesn’t make a lot of sense (at least to me) and certainly doesn’t seem to be asking a specific question referring to Max 2009 - hence the move.
Max 4.2 through 2013.
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.

Hey Peter,
Wow sounds like you are having a great time tripping around Europe going to shows and conventions. If you are trying to make people jelious, it worked( well, sort of). Hmm, but, ya, not sure what your trying to say or ask aside from that. I wonder though if you are feeling the same way the next day or is the whole world different again. Anyways, just thought i would throw in my 2cents.

Hello again,
Thank you. Where suddenly I came think of, synthesizers, and personally seen I know nothing about synthesizers, but –
Both they can be used in a more civilized way, again together with other musical instruments. Line up with or underline or even play its own most important role, and then on the other hand, to be used almost by itself but in a more freaky and not the least way out manner. Whereas for me, same with Max. You’ve all learned, and you’re maybe all of you still using Max but in a most civilized manner, respectfully, but why not try and get rid of your father complex, and instead go ahead with some sort of even misconduct or misbehaviour and so? Despite also, this is definitely not on a beginner’s level, because just like fathers and all that, you here have to know Max, your path and the way to go, almost like the back of the hand.
I know where I am myself. Both physically seen, in a tiny little village in the Pyrenees called Finestret or in Catalan – “end of the road” and then only a table and a saucepan, a bed and then a fairly reasonable amount of machinery, but in a fantastic nature and you’re all very welcome to come and see me, just take the flight to Barcelona. But more seriously, both in painted art as well as in music these days there is this trend called Minimalism. Try and reduce elements (of understanding) to the point of maybe getting to know, what is it that makes things move, and then hopefully in the long run, where am I and what am I actually doing? My feelings are that this can also be done with Max. And one of my projects for the coming year it is to make a (visual) composition, with Max, maybe to be played or rather shown at some electronic music concerts in both Toulouse and Perpignan.
Maybe in here there is a possibility of showing some examples or extracts, sometimes with a fairly stunning outcome and not the least what colour is concerned.
Merry Christmas.
Kind regards,

Peter,
No, your being too limited. Max is just one of many capable of what you wish to achieve. Do not become intense in your quest by focusing on the software, but rather explore the software to understand the essence of 3D, the principles, the methodology and the mind set. This will take you much further than you currently imagine possible.

Yep what Tim said, and unfortunately the software part sometimes get in the way and becomes annoying (in my case today, I’ve had it with Autodesk licensing)

Tim,
Too limited, yes, and I very much take your point.
First of all because, Max is so far the only thing I’ve got, and Cleaner, despite some still fairly remote (financial) dreams of maybe having Combustion and so on too. And above all, call it crocodile tears in saying “am I just the only one” Only because, this is exactly what I’m now up for, and not just in finding my so “end of the road” but really to make it so much Zen that others would probably run screaming out of the door.
Why? Talking about 3D, and you really have my full admiration, and some jealousy too, with what you guys out there you’re now capable of doing. But 3D, and then 4D, my ideas about 4D is that somehow it’s the time evolution, or degeneration, of a still sort of 3D object? For instance, me too, as I am also very much a kind of a 3D object, and then always to sustain, whether I like it or not, still some evolution or degeneration, or both, in time. Obviously, I can do absolutely nothing about it, i.e. go back and try other ways to go, other people or other ideas, despite already I’ve done a lot, too many women and too many places. Physically seen, whether mentally seen it may or it may not be a little different? Work with myself, or call it psychotherapy, in far-off circumstances. A full-scale comment that here we are probably at the beginning of a whole new form of art and artwork? Make or create my own little 3D forms or elements, call it maybe “embryos” and then, with a certain amount of parameters and paradigms coming in, to let it run in through a certain amount of frames and algorithms, and out? Somewhat simple computer modelling, I gather and to me, maybe in a parallel to my own life or whatever? Although only imitation, and maybe a little bit a normal so-called animation what it is definitely not, only that at some point, it ends, just like, yes, you know. Instead of, here, to make the unforeseen, freak solutions, give the free will a boost and then to see what happens? Always with a most tricky question, of how to get enough guts, breath to the clay or indeed life in to those silly 3D elements, well in to the 4th, dimension of course? Well knowing that often with colours there is a certain natural sense of life, this is my own personal stronghold. As well as more or less to avoid, in terms of superficial, pretentious and sometimes even hypocrisy, with what nature can always do better, Virtual Reality is maybe not directly my own cup of tea, but again, as you are so much better geared for it than I?
Anyway, this is trying to be honest with you, because, I started talking about “alienation” and maybe here you are?
Kind regards,
Peter
