So I’ve finally stumbled upon a problem in 3DS Max that I cannot solve, and seems to be beyond the help of community-driven forums like AREA and CGTalk. The cost of a continuous support ticket is really out of the question, and this morning an Autodesk representative tells me that Autodesk no longer offers per-incident support. So I pay Autodesk for an annual subscription and all they can do is send me to a forum with no guarantee that my problem will ever be viewed by an Autodesk representative. I guess I still remember the old days where a company could stand behind its products instead of deferring support responsibility to other paying users.

Hi,
Have you tried posting this problem? Is it a program issue? Hardware, licensing?

Hi Ekah. It’s just a technical support issue, and I have posted about it. I have hopes of getting a response, but realistically it’s a rather obscure issue, hence the need for tech support. I understand that Autodesk has support for a fee, it’s just that the cost is difficult to justify for one or two technical support issues a year.

Well, it’s a technical issue with Max 2009, so it’s off-topic for here. I’ve posted it in the correct forum.
