Hello everybody!

I have a simple question, that hopefully somebody can shed some light on.

For the past few years I have been playing with AutoCAD and it’s 3D capabilities, and I’ve been thriving to know more. I’ve even contenplated going back to school for animation...but there is no where in my area that offers it.

I want to get into 3d animation, modeling, etc. Are there school and/or classes that offer the skills needed to use maya/smoke/etc?

I’m very experienced in AutoCAD (map, civil, etc.)...but Its not enough.

What path do I take to get where I wanna be?

PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks,
dsm_dude!

Theres places such as Fullsail University and Animation Mentor. These are a good start :)

I recommend self study… Maybe start from 3dsmax for your Autocad backgrund. Autocad and 3dsmax work fluently together and it’s nice to have some software on side that you can lean to. This is where I started and it have worked well. Later you could throw in Mudbox etc.
