What’s the best course to take for live action realistic compositing
basically my goal is to add CG effects to video footage, space ships, cars, etc - realistically
I’ve been through the courses at Lynda.com and I’ve looked at Digital Tutors, but I don’t see anything that covers exactly what I want to do - it’s either cartoon or still frame work and I need to know the best way to render out for an animation many many frames :)
does anyone know of a place that might offer such lessons / training?
Thanks!

You did not look hard enough at Digital Tutors. They have a slew of courses on the subject. Check out the Infiltrator Production pipeline working with Maya and either Nuke or Composite. These tutorials cover the basics of what you need. What composing software are you using? If you are using Nuke, there are tons of free tutorials offered by The Foundry in addition to what you can find on YouTube and Vimeo. For Composite, not as much however the principals are the same. If you want an excellent course on compositing with Nuke, check out Steve Wright’s classes on the CGSociety web page. They offer his class 2-3 times a year.

I guess I should have mentioned that I am using Maya 2012 for the 3D part of my work - I figured by posting it in that forum that that was kind of a given - but I guess not since it was moved? Kinda unfriendly.....
