Just curious - is there anyone out there that is using the 3D paint features in Photoshop? If you own 3ds Max or Mudbox then I can see how you already have a lot of the capability. But Maya lacks in this area.
It would be great if you could reply and say what your main software is, and if you use the Photoshop 3D paint as well.

I use 3dsmax and Photoshop CS5 Extended (among others). Photoshop is must have when finetuning textures in 2d. For texture creation it self I use ZBrush and 3D-Coat. Surely some of the work could be done with Photoshop but normal-, bump- and displacement maps are easier to create with other apps. All depends what You are aiming at.

I’ve never used it, to be honest, though my friend from Stockholm does and is happy with it. I might give it a go seeing the comments on here :)

From what I’ve seen the “3d paint” capabilities of photoshop are very limited. Not much point for someone who’s already using a professional 3d paint package like mudbox or bodypaint.
