I have a new project that requires a human actor to interact with graphics. This has to be delivered via Flash. We are using:

Windows XP Pro 64
3DS Max
Photoshop
Flash

The end result is a treasure chest is opened and a person gets out. Our thoughts are to build the treasure chest in 3DS MAX with the body of the chest and lid being separate. Then film the actor, using chromakey, Putting it together we would pin the lid and body either with math or an IK bone. Using layers we could add in the actor.

Is this a reasonable approach?
Is it reasonable to use 3S Max for the chest?

All advice greatly appreciated!
