Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a plug-in that can do Teddy 3D style modeling in Max (http://www-ui.is.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~takeo/teddy/teddy.htm)

I am working on reconstructing an archaeological dig with hundreds of precisely shaped and placed stones and the Teddy 3D method seems the most efficient way of creating them: simply create an outline and DONE!

Or, if there’s another similar program that would let me create the blobs on top of a plan-drawing and export them, it would save me a lot of time.

Thanks!

I know of a site where they have software called Archipelis Designer, and they have a version 2.0 out currently. It does pretty much the same things as Teddy 3D, but it can now handle more than one texture, and many other features. You basically can trace over any image, photo, or drawing, and it becomes 3D automatically.

Check it out. I really hope to buy it soon, because it looks really easy to use, and can export to formats like VRML, 3DS Max, DirectX, Google SketchUp, and Second Life.

Happy to help!
