Hello

I have question:
What operating system is the best for 3dsMax and Maya (especially MAYA) ?
Windows XP 32 or 64? Vista ? or maybe OSX?

i want install Windows XP 32 and 64 on one computer…

my PC :
Intel QuadCore@ 3.0 Ghz
4gig Ram
2x 8800GTX(SLI)
500gig HardDrive

what is your suggestion ?

max doesn’t work on osX
xp 64 bit is recommeded

ok, but how about SLI on Xp 64?
is it work as ii works on XP?

i don’t think max or maya take advantage of sli

SLI works on Xp64, whether or not you will benefit in max or Maya can’t tell you.

Max/Maya/InsertProAppNameHere never could use more than a single card; and truth be told - they never needed it. As soon as the tech became available to the wide public, the cards became so fast that 3d programs didnt need more than a single dedicated 3d card.

Only when using broken OpenGL (OGL on non pro graphic card) one finds himselft thinking that he needs more/faster card-s.

Be aware of Vista and new DX10 capable cards- they run at 5% of their speed, for no obvious reason. Even so, new GPUs can transform over a 5 million poligons in real time.
