| Capture Animation bug on CATRig Mapping
|
|
|
Hello,
I was trying to send the animation from a biped to a catrig, but bumped into some problems when trying to map both rigs to use with capture animation.
I use Auto Map to fill most of the capture nodes, but some remains. The problem happens when I try to drag and drop the Bip01 Spine, Spine1 or Neck to their respective positions on the capture node list. Dragging the Bip01 L Clavicle or R Clavicle works, but it gives that maxscript error shown on the attachment when dragging the spines or neck bones.
Is there a workaround for this?

I’ve tried also building a rig from scratch, align it with Biped, etc. Automap doesn’t work any more, as it did with BaseHuman. But the Capture Animation window has exactly the same bug when you try to drag the Bip01 Spine to it’s correct node on the right.
That single bug just basically prevents any possible use of CAT with motion capture… :(
I was really looking forward to using CAT to work with mocap, since CS Biped is awfully terrible to animate, but at least it’s very flexible in importing and exporting animation to and from.

the default biped catrig has always been a special case. its the only rig with a fk spine and neck thats probably why your running into problems. change the neck and spine to procedural

I’m having the exact same problem and i’m nto trying to import the animation from a biped, but from rig exported out of motionbuilder… and indeed it is preventing the capture of the animation. However it does map the CatRig properly onto the Imported FBX rig, but impossible to collapse the animation after that. WHether i set the neck and spine control to procdural or keyframed won’t change a thing, it will still give me that Script error while loading the bone mapping file.
Can anyone from Autodesk look into this? WHat happened to Phil taylor, he’s unreachable at his old CAT address nor at his former address at softimage either. I’m sur ehe could trouble shoot that one in no time :)

Hmmm… my bed… only the Neck control had to be changed to “Keyframed” in my case, Jim from AudioMotion mentionned it and i hadn’t listened properly. The mapping file imports properly and the capture goes just smooth after that. Solved.
