The links in the following posts of mine are old/broken, so here’s an update (5/10/2010):
UPDATED LINKS (again, sorry for any inconvenience); 8-29-2011
All CAT rigs;
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/477599/CAT_Rigs.zip
(or if there are any problems with that link, try this; http://www.box.net/shared/static/hpbrusirbd.zip )
This is a link to a zip folder that contains all of the rigs that I have posted-up to this thread (36 rigs total, I think. Up to the Shark rig).
Zip file size; ~ 7.1 MB .
If you have any problems or issues, I’ll be glad to try and help. Best to contact me at; “jpurple at comcast dot net “ (the html or code for an email doesn’t appear standard, so that is the “long text version “ )

Snake man (zip) http://jp.joshpurple.com/snake_man.ZIP
3ds Max 2009 32bit, CAT3.3. Files in zip; Max scene, CATMotion preset (.cmp), CAT rig ( .rg3).
This is an older rig ( I made it ~ 2 or 3 years ago ). I tested it, & saved it out from Max 2009 32bit, using CAT3.3, -it worked for me with no problems. Feel free to let me know if you have any issues with it, or if you need any other parts/files for it (CAT Clips, etc.).
To get a little more action out of the CAT rig’s tail, go to the Motion panel > CATMotion Tail, Frequency: increase the value to 1.5 to 2.0 or more.
I’ll keep posting-up more CAT rigs soon :) . Please feel free to post-up any CAT rigs that you would like to share.

Dolphin (zip); http://jp.joshpurple.com/dolphin.ZIP
Includes; 3dsmax-dolphin.mat, Dolphin.max <--Max 2009 32bit, Dolphin.rg3, DolphinSwim.cmp
For this dolphin motion; I created the CATrig from ‘none’ > ‘create pelvis’, added spines, tail, arms, but no legs (and some ‘extra bones’). One CATMotion layer. I ‘flat-lined’ all of the CATMotion values for all of the CAT limbs & parts (pitch, swing, Lift, Push, Roll, etc.). So in CATMotion, nothing is moving.
On the Tail ‘Pitch’ value in CATMotion, I made the values about +42 and -42. I copied that curve, and pasted it into the Pelvis ‘Pitch’ value > then scaled the Pelvis Pitch value way down (to make it more subtle for the whole body moving).
For the CAT rig custom bones I used a .... Poser dolphin model ( please forgive my sin :D ) . It’s just for the CAT bone’s custom look. You can turn the ‘Use Custom Mesh’ off in the CAT bone’s modify panel. That will rid you of the Poser dolphin, and give you a look at the ‘real’ CAT bone objects :) .

This is, I think, a classic CAT rig & CATMotion file from CAT created by Philip Taylor :) , the “CAT Demo Scene.” It has a great pop-up note from Philip Taylor, w/ the date (28/04/2004), when you open the Max scene file. I tested opening this file with 3ds Max 2009 32bit, CAT3.3, and it worked for me with no problems. My BIG Thanks to Philip Taylor for all of his outstanding work on CAT. And my BIG Thanks to Autodesk for adding CAT to Max!

ApeChimpanzee (zip); http://jp.joshpurple.com/ApeChimpanze.zip
In zip; 3ds Max 2009 32bit scene, .rg3, .cmp, & “ApeHandKnuckleWalk.chp*”
This was an older rig & motion preset from CAT (when the formats were ‘.rig’ files) that I have updated to the latest versions of CAT and Max.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any issues or questions on it.
Notes:
*This is a CAT Hand Preset. Part of CAT’s ‘Digit Manager’ (Select CAT Palm or Foot > Motion Panel > Digit Manager). The Digit Manager has a number of good options ( Weight for poses, can be animated, Preset Poses, Digit Modifiers, etc.). The thumb digit (often named, ‘Digit0’) may not always load the pose correctly (this may be an issue only with older CAT digits). This is the case for the ApeChimpanzee’s thumb. You will need to rotate it manually into position.
This ‘ApeChimpanzeWalk.cmp’ is an older example for one method where a hand is a foot. To get the hand pose loaded for the digits, load the ‘ApeHandKnuckleWalk.chp’ in the Digit Manager. Grack has an excellent tutorial showing how CAT can animate a walk cycle where the rig goes from all fours to walking upright.

In zip; 3ds Max 2009 32bit scene, .rg3, .cmp.
This was an older motion preset from CAT that I have updated to the latest versions of CAT and Max. I’m not sure, but I believe this rig is a default rig with the latest install of CAT (I’ve only updated some names on the rig, otherwise it should be the same).
Please feel free to let me know if you have any issues or questions on it.
