samab, what did you mean

There is no need to animate both layer’s weight.
Because the last layer overrides previous ones. I thought Kurt was missing that point.
The weights don’t work like the weights in other Max controllers like Position/Orientation Constraint, where two both having 100 value gives them 50/50 influence.
He wants to half the amount of curve editing he needs to do animating the weights of both legs. I can’t find a way to instance the local weight controllers of the legs, but animating only the last layer will half the anim work he has to do.

Just curious, why is it the weight on the spinners has a range from 0 to 100, but in curve editor the range is 0 to 1?

“Just curious, why is it the weight on the spinners has a range from 0 to 100, but in curve editor the range is 0 to 1? “

in that case you have option to overscale sth and make chaos :| but still you have that posibility ;p

important i find the solution for this “problem”:

Step Masks
“When on, the rig automatically comes to a stop when successive footprints are layered on top of each other; that is, when the Path Node stops, and starts walking again when the Path Node starts moving again.

NoteThe cessation and restarting of the walking motion is not immediate. The rig usually finishes the last step for a few frames after the Path Node stops, and starts walking again shortly before the Path node begins moving after the stop.”

damn, Cat is a perfect animation tool. I going to delete all animated blendings between layers and redo this much simpler in 1 evening.
yes!

You know that was a practise. Next will be better ;]

“i just uploaded my 1st animation ever. i have made it for school and it takes about about 10 days.

unfortunately i havnt got time for tweaks :( and this is only a “sketch” of animation i wanted to do...but after all im glad i made this coz 90% of techniques and soft i used 1st time.

cheers ;)”
