What are some CAT defects you encounter that are affecting your workflow?

Please post steps to repo if you have them.

We’ve just bought Phoenix FD, the fire simulation system from Chaos Group, and guess what; we’ve discovered another weird CAT bug:
Since Phoenix is installed, you can’t change the number of fingers in any CAT rig. What’s the relation? I have no clue, but from chaos group they said to me that they’re aware of this problem, and must be a CAT bug, so, if someone from autodesk is taking note of CAT bugs, here’s another one. This bug is present also with the demo (free) version of Phoenix, I mean, for test purposes yo don’t have to install the full version ...

cheers,
M

Not the usual defect, but thing that drives me crazy is that’s impossible to resize the CAT procedural motion window. I hope it’s just a few lines of code to fix that.

Then there is this hardly to reproduce, but constantly appearing problem when a new layer is added that some bone disappears from the scene. If you select it via selection dialogue, it’s coords will be some something like “-99999999999999”, maxscript returns some very weird value that contains even letters. I have noticed that this most often happens on those extra cat bones.
Only thing that helps to fix this is to remove the layer, save and restart max. Usually then everything goes alright, but I have seen cases where that specific bone was messed up 4 times from 5 max restarts.

Oh and then the problem with creating keyframes in subframes. http://area.autodesk.com/for...tion/post-206585/#p206585

The Freezing/Crashing of Max when CAT motion is open is so horrifying, I am half-temped to force feed my pet Cat to the family dog! I want to like CAT (and should be able to) but this bug makes CAT as useful as the video game PONG is for animating anything!

PLEASE solve this bug! I bought a bunch of new hardware because I thought it was the cause of freezing. But no… the new hardware freezes. All computers here freeze with CAT motion.

Worse, it freezes hard and never lets me submit one of those fantastic error reports.

When you go into a CATMotion layer, you cannot animate any bones that you may have added to, say, a spine bone or head Hub.
