Hi
I keep getting an “Application Error An error has occurred and the application will now close. Do you want to attempt to save a copy of the current scene?” It happens randomly but more often when rendering a scene. The only thing I am doing different is experimenting with cloth and wind although it does happen with scenes that I have created in the past but seems to happen less and only since I have been using cloth. I haven’t used max for some time now, since the last time I used it I have upgraded my computer, new motherboard, faster processor and more RAM.
Does anyone know if this application error is related to the hardware change? Is there any way of testing it? Apart from using the old parts which I no longer have. I have updated all drivers and the CPU and RAM usage rarely goes above 70% but normally sits around 50% so I don’t think it is a hardware performance problem.
Is it common for this to occur with cloth or is it just a coincidence?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Best wishes

Hi
I think it may have been a glitch or something, I started doing other models that didn’t use cloth and were very basic and I didn’t get the error. I opened the scene that originally caused the problem and got the error I reopen max and started another scene got the error again. Looks like it is something to do with the scene. I restarted my computer and started again fresh with the basic scene I created before and this time got no error.
Thanks to all the people that read the post
Best wishes
