Hi is there some way to extract a shape from a loft once it has already been lofted round a path. Thanks for any advice?

Regards,

Better to use the Copy or Instance options when creating the loft - that way you don’t lose the shape(s).

Once Moved, I don’t think there’s a way to do it - at least not directly within the loft object. Easiest would be to drop an Edit Poly modifier on top, Edge mode, select the edges at the start of the loft which equate to the shape used and “create shape” on the Edit Edges rollout. You can then delete the Modifier if you don’t need it.

You should be able to access the Loft’s subobjects and “Put” them into the scene (search for Loft in online reference and see Path commands and Shape commands). The Put command works for my path, but not for my Shape.

Is this a bug? Do you see the same?

Yes - and No.

Yes I see the same thing - Put works for Line but not for Shape.
No because having selected Shape (within the Loft stack entry) and actually clicking the shape within the loft object in the viewport then the Put works. Thing is - you can have only 1 Path but multiple Shapes - so you need to tell it which one even if there IS only one…

Tried it briefly in Max9 and it’s the same there.
