Hi all,
Does anyone know why .mov does not appear in the list of render formats. I am using max 2008 on vista 64

Hi Luc,
It’s because there isn’t a 64 bit codec for Quicktime yet. If you have Quicktime installed you should be able to render out an image sequence and combine them later in Premiere or similar.

shame though, I quite like rendering to quicktime because you can scrub the timline. which is good for quickly reviewing an animation.

You can install both the 32 and 64 bit versions of 2008 on a 64bit OS.
Then you could at least use the Max 32bit RAM Player or Video Post to compile a QT.

I’m hoping that quicktime fixes this soon. I like to render to a .mov with 1 million colors + and then import it into Flash with transparency. It was nice to add 3D objects into Flash animations seemlessly without it being a square with a background. The only other way to do this is to render single png’s which makes for much larger files.
At least there is a work around, install two versions of the same program :(
