I’ve looked for quite some time to no avail. I work 3 monitors and have lost my render preview window. I get all of the normal dialogue, but no picture creation window. I have tried recentering the window with alt-tab and move to no luck. I also can see 3ds in windowed mode at all. I can maximize but that is all. The render preview is a big pain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

have you moved your monitors around recently? Ie the order!
I do this all the time, i go from one monitor to two to one and plug in the DVI’s in wherever they land.
Try switching the monitors around (if you have in the first place!) find the window and then recentre it.
hope this works
cheers

There’s a utility software called SnapWindows. Maybe you can give it a try. It’s a standalone mini-app that doesn’t need installation. See this related thread.

Make sure you have this box checked (Rendered Frame Window) in the render dialog. It’s easily overlooked.

As stated above I use 3 monitors and I had changed them recently. I simply went into my XP display settings and changed the order while Max was open. Voila! I found the preview window… and my render dialogue disappeared. I centered the render preview and changed it again and was able to find the missing render dialogue. I am also now able to view #DS Max in windowed mode. Now everytihng is good.
Thanks to all for your posts. LOL I looked all over for the check box for the render preview to make sure it was checked. I never did find it, but I knew it was there somewhere. Thanks again.
