Hello all,

I am trying to move from Maya to 3ds Max but I find a lot of things irritating specifically the way you arc rotate, pan and zoom. Is there any way I can change 3ds Max to be more like Maya when it comes to mouse behaviors?

I specifically want to change the arc rotate to
ALT + LEFT MOUSE instead of ALT + MIDDLE MOUSE

And then I want to zoom
ALT + RIGHT MOUSE instead of the Middle Scroller

Then I would like to change Panning
ALT + MIDDLE MOUSE instead of MIDDLE MOUSE

I am sure you all know this but just in case you know how to change it and only use max thats what Maya is like.

I would absolutely love the person who can fix this!

Thank you all in advance.

I guess I put the tech stuff here. According to our tech friend its:

Intel QX6850 Core 2 Extreme Quad 3.0GHZ
8GB DDR2 1066MHZ
Nvidia Quadro FX 4500
3ds Max 9 X64
VRAY X64
Windows XP X64

Not possible AFAIK. All the mouse stuff is hard coded.

Max 4.2 through 2013.
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.

You’ve heard of gestures in Maya?  Well Max has strokes, perhaps you should consider using them instead. See rant HERE. BTW Some mice have software to enable remapping and macros if you really need it.
