If you go and download the Max 2008 help from Autodesk you
can do a search for ‘new Features’ and you will get a nifty list
of stuff that is new to 2008.

From a Mental Ray users perspective the improvements are
VERY nice and worth the subscription price alone!!

Bri

Sorry guys,
Pointing me to the Autodesk web site is what confused me to begin with.
Can anyone give me a brief explaination of why there are two New Products called
3ds max?
One is 3ds max 2008
the other is
3ds max 9

Are they the same product?
Why are their two seperate listings?

IS there any difference?

Thank you in advance.

Murph

Does the new mental ray recognize the opacity attribute yet for materials?

How come a buddy of mine on Subscription received both of them this month?

If your buddy was new to subscription and 3dsmax2008 wasn’t quite out, it’s probable that the 3dsmax9 was shipped immediately and then 3dsmax2008 was sent as soon as it was available.

Alternatively, there are sometimes glitches in the matrix…
