Hi there
I have simple character with bones and biped, the initial file size was 3.98 MB, then I modify the skin modifier and save the file. The file size now is 130 MB. I can still open the file, and there is not any object hide. We already merge the scene and save as another file, but the size is the same.
Thank you.

This is a known bug with biped collections. Go to the copy/paste rollout in biped and delete all your collections (save them first if you need them) and then un click “load collections” in the max collections dialogue.
Hope that helps…

This did help! Thanks. I had the same problem with file bloat and biped. Fortunately I didn’t need my collections so I just unchecked the Load Collections box, restarted Max and reloaded the file. File size went from 240 meg to 8 meg. Which solved my network rendering problem (servers crashing because of the file size and memory).
Thank You!!

This hotfix resolves two problems with Biped: the potential corruption of Figure Mode (.fig) files and internal duplication of Copy & Paste files which could cause file size to grow unneccessarily. See the readme file for more information.

Anyone have a solution when the file has become overly bloated and won’t load?
Max says it runs out of memory. Files are between 150-180MB
Attempting to merge the biped only also causes a crash.
Thanks
