Hi,
How can you attach a dummy to a spline vertex so when the spline moves the dummy follows the spline’s movement?
Thanks for any advice.

An easy way would be to assign the Dummy a Path Constraint Position controller and pick the Spline.
Use the Time Slider to position the Dummy along the spline where desired, then delete the two animation keys in the Time Bar or Track View.
It may not be exactly on a vertex, but maybe close enough to get the job done.

Thanks. That was really helpful. It did the trick.

Also note that the Spline IK Modifier was DESIGNED to create dummies at spline vertices and make them follow the spline… Might be an option.

I second the spline ik solution. For some reason it slipped passed my radar for many years, but now that I’ve discovered it, I use it all the time.

And I keep forgetting about the Spline IK.
