I downloaded the trial version of 32 bit and 64 bit max 9.  After it finishes downloading, it tells me I do not have admin rights.  I just bought the computer and i am the admin.  Then it tells me it wil not run correctly.  I am using vista ultimate 64, any ideas?

Try a reboot then right click on Max.exe and run as admin to use it as well - perhaps that will work

Also this wont work on the shortcut you have to path to the .exe and run as admin - I have to do this to run Z-Brush in Vista 64 all the time - its pain

i got it to work finally.  I went to properties and clicked a box that allows you to always run as admin so i can still use the shortcut.  It was a pain always having to right click and run as admin.  I hope they hurry with service pack 1 because its a pain to configure things to work right on vista.  oh and one quick question:  what graphics card are you using?  i use the 8800 gtx and its ok, i cant afford the quadro fx 4600

Download and install SP2.

I doubt here will be any more service packs for max 9 now that max 2008 has been released.

Regarding the use of Quadro Cards - I’ve never had a problem running a gaming card for Max it runs fine - in fact my new PC which is awaiting Max has SLI 8800 GTX cards - not sure if Max allows SLI but it’s also great for gaming.

Quadro = rip off
